Q: Ticket
PAX: Gap, Nougat, Cobra Commander, Prestige Worldwide, Glitch, Rocko, Kahn, Polaroid (FNG), Socrates, Bull, Beaker, Ticket
Fresh off the ruck, the ruckers ditched their rucksack and joined the other PAX that had arrived for the beatdown. There was a new face in the circle and a couple of old faces that hadn’t been seen in a while. Khan and Prestige Worldwide were back from school and brought an FNG, who would later be named Polaroid, owing to his interest in photography. Glitch and Rocko were also there making a Kotter appearance (with Glitch being on his second appearance in the last few weeks). YHC went through the 5 core principles and got the PAX to work with a quick warm-up.
– Michael Phelps
– 10 Arm Circles forward and backward
– 15 SSH IC
– 10 Windmills IC
– 5 Burpees IC
With the PAX warmed up, it was time to mosey. YHC grabbed some gear and had the PAX mosey to Start High School for the work. Once at Start, YHC got some tunes going, setup a few cones for some friendly competition, and ran through the setup with the PAX.
There would be several rounds with various configurations of competition. The first 3 rounds were between 2 teams of 6. The next 2 rounds were between 4 teams of 3. The final round was every PAX for himself.
Tha Thang:
For all of the rounds except the final round, the competition was a relay race. Each round had an exercise to be done as “active rest” by the PAX that were waiting to do their leg of the relay. The PAX completing their leg of the relay had to get to the middle of the parking lot using the prescribed movement. Once they got to the middle of the parking lot, they completed 15 reps of an exercise. Finally upon completing the reps, the PAX sprinted to the other end of the parking lot and started to do the active rest exercise.
The winning team was “rewarded” with a mosey around the parking lot. The losing team was assessed a penalty exercise until the winners got back
The rounds were set up as follows:
Round 1 – 2 teams of 6
Active Rest – Side Straddle Hops
Movement – Sprint
Exercise – Squats
Penalty – Monkey Humpers
Round 2 – 2 teams of 6
Active Rest – Mountain Climbers
Movement – Bear Crawl
Exercise – Merkins
Penalty – Burpees
Round 3 – 2 teams of 6
Active Rest – LBCs
Movement – Frog Hop
Exercise – American Hammers (2-is-1)
Penalty – Crunchy Frogs
Round 4 – 4 teams of 3
Active Rest – Horsey Ups
Movement – Sprint
Exercise – Mike Tysons
Penalty – Donkey Kicks
Round 5 – 4 teams of 3
Active Rest – Big Boys
Movement – Bear Crawl
Exercise – Outlaws
Penalty – Flutter Kicks
Round 6 – Every PAX for Himself
Active Rest – Lunges
Movement – Gorilla Hop
Exercise – Lt Dans
Penalty – Side Straddle Hops
The first 6 to complete the last round were considered the winners and got to mosey around the parking lot, while the last 6 to complete the round were assessed the penalty.
Once the winning team finished their mosey, we gathered up the gear and moseyed back to The Oasis for the COT.
In the COT, we did COR, NOR, the 6 was Rocko, we named our FNG Polaroid, had Announcements, and closed it out with prayer requests and a prayer.
The level of energy at this AO is amazing, with a great mix of young and not as young PAX. It made for great competition and a great start to the day. It was an honor and a privilege to lead the men at the Oasis. In the words of the always giddy Gap, kick that pig in the balls every day!!!
