5 core principles
In June, YHC went to Omaha to watch the Olympic Trials for swimming and got to post with the men of Omaha (technically a starfish in Papillion). 20+ guys both days. Solid guys and athletes undergoing some explosive growth. I learned a few new things while I was there and thought I would share them with the men of Toledo.
Warm-up
– Michael Phelps
– 10 Arm Circles forward and backward
– 10 Tappy Taps IC
– 15 SSH IC
With everyone warmed up, we counted off by and split into 2 groups to get ready for The Thang.
The Thang
Consists of 2 parts with each team alternating bleacher work and track work.
On the track, the PAX did a mini-Loredo Hero WOD. The full Loredo is 6 rounds. The PAX did 4. Each round consisted of:
– 24 Squats
– 24 Merkins
– 24 Lunges (1-is-1)
– Run a lap around the track
After finishing a round of Loredo, the group on the PAX went to the bleachers and the group at the bleachers went to the track for a round of Loredo.
At the bleachers, the first PAX moved up and down the bleachers as specified, and the other PAX did a specified exercise while they waited for their turn. After moving up and down the bleachers, the PAX returned to the group and did the specified exercise. This continued until the track group arrived at the bleachers. The movements and exercises in the bleachers were as follows:
Round 1
Movement – Merkin Walk up, Run Down, repeato
Exercise – Crabby Cakes
Round 2
Movement – Box Jump up, Run Down, repeato
Exercise – Squat Jumps
Round 3
Movement – Bear Crawl up, Run Down, repeato
Exercise – Annies
Round 4 – didn’t have time to do
Movement – Marios up, Run Down, repeato
Exercise – Lt Dans
Wrap-up
Circled up for some Slammers, which are a 4 count American Hammer with a 3 count hold. Each PAX counted cadence as we went around the circle twice
In the COT, we did COR, NOR, the 6 was Tupac, we named our FNG Cosell, ran through Announcements, and closed it out with prayer requests and a prayer.
It was an honor to lead the men at StoneWolfe through this beatdown.
